Der Opel Corsa A (1982-1993) war der erste Kleinwagen der Marke — ein Neustart in der unteren Klasse nach dem Kadett. Als 1,0-Liter (45 PS) bis 1,6-Liter GSi (100 PS) angeboten; auch als dreituriges und funfturiges Schragheck sowie als Limousine (Corsa A Swing/GL). Der Corsa A Sprint (100 PS) war die sportliche Version; kein direktes AMG oder OPC in dieser Generation. Direkter Konkurrent zu VW Polo II, Ford Fiesta Mk2 und Fiat Uno als erster Opel-Kleinwagen.
